A new treatment way of Herpes Zoster with Allokin-alphaOne of the new approved treatment of Herpes Virus infections is a national antiviral drug Allokin-alpha. The following parameters were weighted in the analysis of the therapy results:
The parenteral use of Allokin-alpha did not cause any allergic or other adverse reactions, it was well accepted and convenient in use, it can be combined with other drugs. When Allokin-Alpha was included in the treatment of patients with Herpes Zoster, Ophthalmic Herpes did not have a progress at all (if it had not developed before the treatment with Allokin-alpha), and 30% of the patients had a regression of eye incipient lesion. HZ with eye lesion follows in the course of lymphopenia (secondary immune deficiency), but after a combined therapy (AC + Allokin-alpha) the number of lymphocytes increased by 50%, thus the immuno-biological resistance of the body had been increasing. The researches results of F. I. Ershov and others (2003) in the treatment with Allokin-alpha in patients with Genital Herpes have identified the increase of cytokines production, favoring the formation of TX1-immune response mostly, which is very important in rehabilitation of the body from Herpes Viruses (F. I. Ershov et al., 2003; V. A. Isakov. and others, 2006). Allokin-alpha had induced the synthesis of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 that is the answer for the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of the drug in the treatment of patients with HZ. These influence results of Allokin-alpha on the interferon status, cytokine profile and the expression of cytokine genes allow to explain the high clinical efficiency of Herpes Zoster treatment with Allokin-alpha. The influence of treatment with Allokine-alpha in patients with Herpes Zoster on
Note: * - p < 0,05 Including Allokin-alpha into a complex HZ therapy, has contributed to a significant reduction in the duration of pain and burning sensation by 1/3. It allowed to avoid any complication of HZ in the form of eye lesions and the clinical symptoms of already developed Ophthalmic Herpes had passed quickly. Allokin-alpha can be recommended for the wide practical application as a drug of choice in the complex therapy of Herpes Zoster.. Read more:
